Nepro® HP Recipe

For the pastry:

  • Plain flour (200g)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter (100g)
  • Water (120ml)

For the filling

  • 1 bottle of Nepro® HP vanilla (220ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • 1 green pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 red pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 yellow pepper, cut into strips
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh basil
  • ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper


For the pastry:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas Mark 4
  2. In a large bowl, sieve together the flour and salt
  3. With a knife, cut the butter into small cubes
  4. Work the flour and butter with your fingertips until a breadcrumb texture is formed
  5. Add water, small amounts at a time, until a firm dough is formed
  6. Roll out onto a floured surface, until the pastry is approximately 1 inch thick
  7. Place in a baking tray and trim the sides
  8. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes

For the filling

  1. In a large pan, melt margarine and sauté the peppers until soft, but not limp
  2. Place the peppers in the pastry case
  3. In a large bowl, mix together Nepro® HP, eggs, water, basil and cayenne pepper and pour over the cooked peppers
  4. Bake for 50 minutes or until a knife inserted into the centre of the quiche comes out clean
  5. Leave to stand for 10 minutes before serving

Tip: This meal can be cooked in bulk and frozen
