Vanilla Scones

1 bottle Ensure Plus Advance Vanilla (220ml)

Self-rasing Flour (450g)

Baking powder (pinch)

Castor Sugar (50g)

Butter (110g)

1 Egg

Double cream (30ml)


1. Preheat the oven to 180oC /350oF / Gas Mark 4

2. In a large mixing bowl, sieve together the flour, sugar and baking powder

3. Cut the butter into small chunks and add to the flour mixture

4. Work the flour mixture with your fingertips until a breadcrumb texture is formed

5. Mix Ensure Plus Advance with double cream and egg

6. Add liquid to flour mix, small amounts at a time until it has a soft doughy texture - but it shouldn't be too moist

7. Roll out onto a floured surface and cut the dough into round circles, approximately 1 inch thick, transfer to a greased baking tray and brush with milk

8. Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes

9. Serve either warm or cold
